The brief
A couple wanted to leave a draughty farmhouse for something warm, low-maintenance and simple to run. The plot was narrow, exposed and on a slope.
Our response
We kept the form plain: one steep roof, dark timber cladding that weathers well, and deep window reveals that frame the view and shade the glass in summer. The living space runs the full length of the house on one level.
The result
A quiet house that sits low in the field. It's warm in winter, and the long window means you see the weather coming up the valley.
